PCNL was unknown as a surgical procedure, and ureteroscopy was equally not being practiced, prior to the first visit made for Medi Tech Trust by Mr Graham Watson in early 2017. The assistance of our charity by way of training and equipment donation has seen a significant shift from open procedures towards the practice of endourology, which has attracted trainees into the subspecialty in the southern region of the country.
Subsequent visits to Bulawayo and Harare coupled with the shipment of a sea container full of medical equipment and surgical supplies have proved beneficial in reigniting interest amongst surgical trainees.
