The first visit to Benin was made in November 2018 by Consultant Urologist, Mr Graham Watson; Consultant Radiologist Mr Harry Bardgett; and two highly experienced theatre nurses, Ms Zenia Bolauro and Joana Da Silva. Since then several visits have been made.
Dr Giles Natchagande of CBHU-HKM has also been mentored virtually since the pandemic commenced.

Our charity was concerned to learn that one in three children under five years of age would fail to survive their operation, as there were insufficient facilities available. The trustees agreed to make a one-off donation to sponsor the cost of building a specialist post-operative paediatric room in order to reduce the death rate of children under five-years old. MTT is pleased to report that this has proved to be a positive success.
