Planning ahead for the future
Discussing personal matters is never easy. We do not employ a professional fund raiser, so hopefully you will understand why we mention this subject.
As Trustees, one of our duties is to plan ahead for the future — the Charity’s future — and we do this by forecasting what income Medi Tech Trust can reasonably expect from gifts left to our charity in the wills of our supporters.
One of our advantages as a small charity is that we are able to monitor the beneficial effects produced as a direct result of donating medical equipment. The advantages gained by both patients and surgeons alike as a direct result of your support spur the Trustees forward.
There are so many demands made on the limited amount of funds that our charity raises with your help, and there is little likelihood that these requests will diminish during your or your family’s lifetime.
Realistically, the difficult part is to be there to help when you want to, but cannot. Without seeming macabre, could we ask you to think about remembering Medi Tech Trust in your Will. We apologise if this appears to be blunt, but we hope you can appreciate the importance of this request.

Donate in Memory
Mrs Christina Dugdale was interested in the progress being made by our charity and made several donations, requesting that these be Gift Aided. This simple act enabled Medi Tech Trust to reclaim 25% extra.
Her generosity made it possible for our charity to fund the balance of the cost of a laser machine for use in Sri Lanka. Such a gift was beyond the hopes of Sri Lankan surgeons, so they arranged for a ‘thank you’ banner to be displayed at the handover ceremony. Unfortunately, Mrs Dugdale died from cancer three days later.
We later learned that she had left a substantial legacy to our charity in her will. This enabled us to carry out her wishes, which have benefitted thousands of patients both in the UK and abroad.
Thank you Christina – you are forever in our minds and those of countless others!
A gift that endures
Naturally, your first priority must be to remember your family and friends, just as the Trustees will remember their own. We also understand that everyone has a number of preferred charities and that it is difficult to provide for as many as you would wish.
Some donors simply state that after family, friends and other bequests have been made, any residue is donated to Medi Tech Trust. However small that might be, it will be genuinely welcomed and faithfully applied as you wished.
